How To Rip DVD To Any Format In 3 Steps?

Author : Miley Hunter

While ripping CDs is a common activity performed by many software programs, even many advanced computer users don't know how to rip DVD in Windows. Ripping DVDs is good for making a backup of their content, or for watching them on your PC, iPod, iPhone, Zune etc.

Before all the steps below, you should download and launch easy and powerful DVD ripping software first to do the job.

Part 1: DVD Ripping Setup

Simply follow the two steps below to convert DVD to formats which are compatible with tons of popular devices, such as iPhone, iPod, PSP, Zune, Apple TV, PS3, Xbox 360 and many more.

Step 1: Add Files

Insert your DVD disc into your computer's DVD-Rom, start up DVD Ripper and click the "Load DVD" button to begin uploading files. You can also convert DVD without using the disc, using ISO files or DVD Folder instead.

Step 2: Select an Export Format and Destination Folder

Click "Profile" (usually located below where your DVD's files are displayed) and select the format you want from the drop-down list. Just below "Profile" is "Output", where you can browse your computer for a better destination folder for the DVD Ripper to output your converted movies.

Step 3: Press "Start" to Rip

Once you have selected the output file format as you like, you're ready to rip. Simply press the "Start" button. Ripping your DVD should take a few minutes to half an hour, depending on the quality and duration of the movie you choose.

Part 2: Edit, Merge and Crop Your Movie

If you want to edit your DVD movie, you will need to do it before you rip. After your DVD files have finished loading, you can use DVD Ripper to edit, combine and crop your DVD movie. You can access all available editing functions by either clicking "Edit" in the menu bar or by right-clicking one of your DVD's individual file folders, which are listed in the file display tray.

From the Video Edit workspace, you can perform the following functions:

Crop: Zoom in or out, change the aspect ratio and create a custom crop.

Effect: Adjust brightness, contrast and saturation, apply grey, negative, emboss or old film effects, etc.

Watermark: Import an image watermark or create a text watermark to personalize your video.

Now that you know how it all works, you can start doing more DVD rip with your favorite movies! Create clips of your favorite scenes and merge them together to make a highlight reel. You can edit scenes and upload them to sites like YouTube to share them with others. No matter what fun stuff you choose to create, now that you've liberated your DVD movies!
