Rosacea refers to an inflammatory skin problem that is characterized by tiny, pus-filled, and red-colored bumps on the forehead, nose, cheek, and chin. Other symptoms of this skin condition may include bulbous nose, easy blushing or flushing, and telangiectasia or small dilated blood vessels on the nose and cheeks. Most people with rosacea also suffer from ocular rosacea, a condition that can cause sensation of burning and grittiness in the eyes. Rosacea can also lead to conjunctivitis or inflamed eyelids.

This is a chronic, recurring skin disorder and most often occurs in adults. The causes that lead to rosacea are not yet known. However, it is widely believed that environmental and hereditary factors play an important role in the development of rosacea. It tends to run in families and mostly occurs in people with light eye and hair color. There is no way to permanetely get rid of this condition, but its symptoms can be reduced with medications. There are also some home remedies for rosacea that can help in improving the signs and symptoms of rosacea.

The symptoms of rosacea can be triggered by a number of things, including spicy foods, sunlight, hot bath, hot foods and drinks, alcohol, exposure to extreme temperatures, and some medications like corticosteroids, vasodilators, and certain blood pressure medications. Emotions like anger, stress, and awkwardness can also worsen rosacea symptoms. Definitely, one of the most important home remedies for rosacea is to recognize the triggers of your rosacea and try to avoid them. Apply a sunscreen with a sun protection factor of 30 or higher before going out in the sun. Always use a mild cleanser to wash your face. You should stay away from drinking alcohol and using cosmetics that contain alcohol. Also, avoid excessive touching of your face.

Emu oil is considered as one of the best home remedies for rosacea. Apply emu oil three times daily to alleviate the symptoms of this skin condition. An oatmeal mask is a good remedy for rosacea. Prepare some oatmeal and add lemon juice into it. Apply this mixture on your face, let it sit on there for at least thirty minutes and then wash it away. Tea tree oil can be used to cure rosacea. Rub some tea tree oil on your face, leave it there overnight, and rinse it off next morning. Applying lavender oil directly to the affected areas is also a great way to reduce the symptoms of rosacea.

Jojoba oil is another essential oil that is effective to treat rosacea. Apply it directly to the affected areas. Make some green tea and put it on your face for 15 minutes. Chamomile flowers are excellent home remedies for rosacea. They have an ingredient called terpene bisabolol, which helps to ease many symptoms of rosacea, including redness, pain, and swelling. Take some dried chamomile flowers and boil them in water for about ten minutes. Once cool, strain the water and apply it on the affected areas. Drinking fenugreek tea once a day can also cure the symptoms of rosacea.
