The Benefits Of Organic Lawn Care

Author : Ryan Wolfe

The green movement is here, and it's not going away. Chemicals are a thing of the past, and everything is trying to be environmentally friendly, you do your best, you recycle, and try to pay attention to your carbon footprint, but have you thought about what you're doing with your lawn care? Are yards are a way of helping ward off global warming, and adding back a little bit of nature to an otherwise urbanized world, but very few people stop to consider what products their using, and if they're organic or not. Organic Lawn Care has some great benefits, not only are you doing what's right for the environment and protecting the world for your children, but you're letting nature do what it's good at, and that's grow things.

No one likes bugs but pests, as much as we do dislike them aren't always bad, what usually is bad, the chemicals that are designed to get rid of them. Pesticides are among the worst of the non-organic offenders. When you decide to opt for organic lawn care you are making the choice to rid yourself of the biggest pest of all, chemical pesticides. They have the worst of the effects out of all the yard care products. It's toxic, that's why it kills the pests, however, it's also toxic to people. It can cause health problems from inhalation, skin absorption. So if it's a space you plan to be using, organic is defiantly the way to go, there are many alternatives to rid yourself of those pests, including beneficial nematodes. You'll be saving yourself the possibility of damaging your health and that of your family, as well as doing Mother Nature a favor, by letting her do the yard care work.

Another fantastic benefit to changing over to organic lawn service is, the overall health of your soil. Non-organic lawn care products do damage to your soil draining it of its natural organic compounds, leaving you with problems with erosion, and having to add more fertilizer instead of less. On top of that, those fertilizers cause an environmental problem of their own. Instead of being toxic, they're causing everything to grow too much. When overgrowth occurs, you have plants that would normally be benefiting bodies of water sucking up all the oxygen, not leaving enough for fish and other beneficial natural life. With the fish and other life, dying it's creating an imbalance in the local ecosystem, as well as causing a stench. So by switching your yard care to an organic you ensure the health of your own soil, as the organic material will help stop erosion, and build up the long term health of your soil while helping the local environment.

Another benefit to organic yard care is that you can grow plants that are traditional to your area. In some cases those plants are being forgotten, and left behind. By growing a plant that is native to the area, you can help keep that strand alive, as well as make your yard service a little easier, it's supposed to be growing there so it won't require all the extra treatment.
