Right from the Renaissance period to the mid 19th century, artists have tried to bring out reality into illusions and many have succeeded. The other form that is famous among artists is surrealist oil paintings. Even in the modern era, many artists use their imagination and visions to create such paintings. These paintings can be a still life painting, religious, nudes, etc. In the primitive days, while indulging in oil painting, the artist would mostly begin the drawing with a charcoal. The basic technique of oil painting is that the additional layer of the paint must contain more oil than the previous layer or else the painting, upon its completion, will crack. One of the most famous oil paintings is that of Mona Lisa by Leonardo da Vinci.

These paintings are all hand-made and give out the vision of the painter. They use all their artistic touches and mixture of colors to depict what their picture actually means. The artists earn a living by selling these paintings. They are sold at auctions or even online, wherein you have to bid for the pictures and the highest bidder of the pictures will be it owner. May people buy these artistic oil paintings and put them up on the walls of their homes or in their offices. These paintings give out a certain message and if understood properly, may give out motivation to others. The colors that are used and the designs created by the artist on the surrealist oil paintings look magical and contain a great deal of illusion. These paintings are put up on display and many are sold except the one’s which are marked as “private collection”.

When the artist creates a picture, he does it with a vision in mind. A person that has an artistic approach in life can understand the true meaning and the value of such surrealist oil paintings. You can check out the website of such artists and bid for their paintings. Some artists even make paintings for a good cause and the amount earned for the painting goes to the charity. You can purchase the design based on your taste as the artists create paintings like artistic oil paintings, nude paintings, still life or religious paintings.
