The Importance Of Good Web Design

Author : Ffrank Hafeer

It's imperative that your website layout makes sense and easy to get around. Internet users who land on your website can get easily angered if it is difficult to find the information they need, and with fast internet speeds and search engines showing many alternatives, it can be easier for them to just close your site and go to another.

One of the quickest ways to arrange your website is to look at your menus. Having clearly defined menu choices will make finding pages much easier. it is also best to have links to every page, and not lead users into a labyrinth, clicking through to find the right link to their ultimate destination. Have a specific purpose for each page that you add, rather than flooding the site with many pages that could have been trimmed into one or that arenot connected to what you're selling, or your business overall.

Your website is the focus of your online business. It is the virtual showcase of your business whether your company exists physically or doesn't. When you are carrying out business online, people can not see you physically like how they could if they were dealing with an offline company. In light of this, people will judge you by your covers. This is where a brilliant designcomes in.

Imagine if you are running an offline company. Would you allow your sales people to be dressed in poor or casual clothing when they are speaking with your clients? By making your sales people wear professional outfits, you are showing your customers that you do care about quality. This works only because first impressions matter.

In the same vein, the same effects your website. If your web site is put together in a bad way and looks like a 5 minute "quick fix", you are just screaming to your visitors that you are not professional and you do not care about quality.

On the other hand, if you have a fully stylish looking website, you are giving your visitors the perception that you have given important attention to every detail and you care about being professional. You are organised, focused and you really mean business.

As such, you should in addition have anything connected to your company well designed. From flyers to letterheads to promotional brochures, every little bit matters. This is because as you enlarge your company, these items become the face of your company. Once again, think of the "salesman dressed poorly" analogy, and you will get my point.

A great website will instil confidence and trust in our clients so they come back to you once again. Without this trust, a long lasting relationship will not develop and your reputation will suffer as a result. As business is based on reputation this is the last thing you would like to happen. So as you can see, having a great website is more important than you thought.
