Michigan Hotels And Lodging Located Near Natural Sites Are A Bit More Rustic

Author : Wendell Demont

Michigan hotels; those two words by themselves say volumes. Of course vacationing throughout Michigan means different types of lodging, but more importantly, differently quality of lodging. A lot depends if you're looking for Michigan hotels along Lake Superior or Hiawatha National Forest. It also depends on if you're looking for Michigan vacation rentals or high quality lodging in the cities. One thing for sure is that there are a myriad of hotels, motels and vacation rentals or any quality and any price.

Personal I prefer spending my Michigan vacation using rentals strewn around the outdoors. There a few necessary requirements my kind of lodging must have. All hotels and rentals must be near ATV trails. Whether I'm vacationing along the upper peninsula, the Hiawatha National Forest or Lake Superior, I long to hop on my ride and travel the quite beautiful roads of nature. Most of the ATV trails I travel are open year round.

Of course, Michigan hotels and lodging located near natural sites are a bit more rustic. I prefer that they have running water, toilets and a that's pretty much it. A man can always find a place to hang his hat and rest his head. The only electricity I need is a wireless signal for my phone in case I need help. There's nothing like the fresh air and crisp breezes that come through the forests or off Lake Superior. Taking all that in while you're lazing on a veranda or in the grassy yard of a rustic hotel is worth all the money in the world. In fact one of my favorite places for that kind of relaxation is in a place called, Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore. I may have the name wrong, but it was so beautiful a picture doesn't do it justice.

Michigan hotels located in and around the city are can be pretty interesting too. I say interesting because of one particular experience. After traveling long hours coming from the upper peninsula, it was late in the evening a we desperately needed sleep. As much as we had hoped we couldn't eye any vacations rentals or lodging of any type. In desperation we took the nearest off ramp in searching of rest. Finally, a short distance from the freeway not far from Lake Superior we found lodging in a small hotel. What looked to be a nice vacation rental from the outside was nothing short of a rat's nest on the inside. You wouldn't find this one in the pages of a magazine honoring Michigan hotels. I was afraid to lay on the bed, but we managed.

But don't take that one bad experience as gospel to reference Michigan hotels. There are many beautiful lodging areas. Although, it would be wise to plan out a route with all the necessary vacation rentals along the path you wish to take. Open year round you'll always find something to satisfy whatever tastes you have in comfort.

Enjoy your vacation to Michigan. Visit the wonderful sites of Lake Superior and Hiawatha National Forest. Stay in lavish hotels or take a more rustic approach to relaxation. Whatever you decide you can be sure to find Michigan hotels among the finest in the land. Make the most of your stay and always keep an open mind to what you might find in Michigan.
