No Matter What Your Skin Type These Tips Can Help

Author : Andre Contado

If you have been experiencing frustration with your skin care routine, then maybe your methods are not meant for your skin type. This happens a lot more often than you might think. The very first thing anyone should do is choose methods and products appropriate for your skin type. So, if your skin is sensitive or damaged or oily or dry or a combination of any of the above, you should be able to find a good and proper way to take care of the skin you have. However, there are some common mistakes that are made even if you are getting everything else right.

We'll talk about a few proven skin care routines for each skin type.

If you've dealt with oily skin most of your life we know how frustrated you must be. We've all tried the tried and true methods to no avail only to eventually resort to super strength skin cleansers to remove every last drop of oil from our faces. Doing this can cause the opposite of what you are trying to accomplish, your oil glands may start to over produce more of the oil because your face is dried out from over cleansing.

Using slightly warm water to wash your face is perfect.

To avoid transferring dirt and oil from your hands to your face wash them first. The morning warm water splash will work well for removing oils, plus if you use a night cream it will work for that too. Once again, we will mention that you need to always take care to avoid over-cleansing your face when you do use a cleanser. If your skin is oily you won't necessarily need an extra moisturizer unlike those with dry skin.

Dermatologists have reached a resounding consensus that the thing you need most to keep your skin cared for and healthy is a good quality sunscreen. Everyone knows how bad it is for your skin to have too much exposure to the sun. Even people who are not habitual sunbathers can suffer from sun damage--it builds up over the course of a lifetime. Tanning salon beds are not any better for you than natural sunlight.

Don't get fooled by cooler weather or rainy days. The sun's damaging UV rays will still be there beating up your facial skin.

Your face and your body both need to have the right products for their skin type no matter what that type might be. If you are just getting started with your skin care program, or for some reason need to change products, then you will most likely find that you have to experiment a little before finding the ideal skin products for your type. This should not be a matter of contention for you, don't let it get you down. After you've kissed a few frogs you'll find the perfect one for your skin and then you can stick to it.
