A Breakdown Of The Sport Of Golf And Advantages Of Golf Simulators

Author : Samantha Frost

Golf is a sport in which players use clubs to hit a ball over a course with the goal of putting the ball into the hole using the least number of shots. A golf course consists of eighteen holes, each starting from a tee, with it finishing with a hole and flag. The golf course consists of the primary area called the fairway, and the rough that has deeper grass and other obstacles such as trees, sand, or bushes. Bunkers, or sand traps, are made of hollow areas filled with sand and provide a difficult challenge. The putting green is the area around the hole and is cut short for ideal roll.

There are three main types of shots used in golf; the drive, approach shot and putt. The drive is the shot from the tee to the fairway, the approach shot gets the ball on the putting green and the putt get the ball in the hole. A player is allowed fourteen clubs which can be picked from number 1 through 9 irons, plus wedges as well as number 1 to 7 woods and of course a putter. The lower the number of the club the farther a shot will go. Woods have big heads and were originally actually made from wood, but are nowadays made from metal or even titanium. Irons are made from steel and are chrome plated or forged. Woods and long irons are most commonly used for the initial shot while different clubs are used during the game to attain varying height, distance which aids in shot making. Modern golf balls are dimpled to achieve stability in flight, with a core for distance and soft cover for feel.

Mostly everyone likes a game of golf with their friends, family, or business partners. Playing golf allows one to get exercise while enjoying nature at the same time. It also enables one to get away from from the worries of everyday life. However golf courses are not always readily accessed locally for reasons of expense or geography. In addition, not everyone has the time to drive to the course, and spend the whole day playing 18 holes. Because of these inconveniences, the talent of golfers can wane as they are not able to play on a real course to get enough training. Virtual golf tackles these problems by allowing one to enjoy the sport indoors. This is accomplished by playing on a golf simulator which allows players to get in a round of golf in less than an hour. In virtual golf, players can focus on different aspects of their game such as crushing drives at the range, chipping, and putting on a green, with varying distances and controlled weather situations.

Golf simulators also gives you access to the best courses in the world where you can compete against other golfers online. The computer creates a realistic representation and tracks the shot's speed, direction, angle and trajectory. Virtual golf is entertaining while also serving as a training facility that enables the players to enjoy the game they love in the comfort of an indoor setting whether at the home or office. The best golf simulators use high speed cameras to track the club and ball. This technology allows the golf simulator to gather the information necessary to determine the speed, direction and trajectory of each swing.

Features of virtual golf includes lifelike richly detailed golf courses, swing analysis and detailed performance review of driving range. With all these technological breakthroughs, is it great to have an indoor golf simulator than you can step into anytime. All the extra practice might just help you to realize a new level of potential.
