Why Is It Hard To Maintain A Weight Loss Plan?

Author : erlinda villarreal

We all dream of losing weight fast. Of being able to look fantastic for a weekend break, wedding or party in a couple of months. However, such thinking can often make your diet fail before it has even had the opportunity to work…

Why do weight loss plans collapse?

There are lots of possibilities why your weight loss plan may not work, but the key causes consist of:

Limited Dietary Plans

Fad weight loss plans (often acknowledged as 'celebrity diets') are renowned for cutting out whole nutrition groups in a bid to help you excess lbs. However, such diets are difficult to keep to for months on end. Not only are they bad for your health, but they are hard to enjoy. After all, could you experience satisfaction eating just cabbage or proteins, day after day for months at a time? No.

We have all got fad snacks which we can't ignore. Chocolate… cakes… biscuits…chips… Now whilst treating yourself to the occasional treat is not a failure. Turn this monthly treat into daily treat and you will soon recognise that you have caved to additional temptations as well which will lead to weight gain, not weight loss.

Skipping Meals

It may appear to make sense when you are shifting excess lbs to cut out meals as you are essentially consuming less calories; yet without a consistent input of calories into your body, your metabolism will quickly begin to slow down as it believes you are starving.

And this can make losing excess lbs incredibly hard as your metabolism will be too slow to deal with fat burn.

What should I do?

If any of these sounds like you, don't let this dampen your desire to lose excess lbs. To witness healthy, permanent fat loss all you need to do is change your beliefs and accept that your dieting goals will not be instant.

A consistent fat loss of 1-2lbs a week is recommended by many leading health officials as these are easier to keep off. But what else can you do?

• Eat a balanced diet - you don't have to cut out your favourite foods completely to witness successful weight loss. The trick is to eat a healthy balanced meal plan of all the big nutrition groups and cut down on fatty foods.

Now we are not telling you to exclude your favourite snacks altogether - all this will lead to is cravings. However, by slowly reducing how regularly you have them, on a week by week basis, you can naturally cut them from your diet and prevent cravings.

• Workout often - eating well and working out often go together when it comes to fat loss. By trying a workout regime of aerobics and strength training 2-3 times a week for up to 30 minutes, you can enhance your metabolism and more importantly your fat burn.

• Create achieveable goals - instead of focusing on a complete weight loss of 10-20lbs, set yourself little weekly targets of 2lbs and attempt to attain just those. This helps to alleviate the pressure to get rid of excess lbs and soon you will discover that you are close to your long term goal.

• Try a dietary supplement - if you are struggling to get rid of those extra pounds and boost your weight loss, the assistance of a proven weight loss tablet can help. Clinically tested and found through 6 medical studies to eliminate up to 28 percent of fat molecules, curb cravings, improve blood cholesterol and double energy levels, Proactol PLUS can help you to lower your hunger cravings and naturally reduce your appetite to make dieting simple, safe and care-free.
