Top Dietary Tips For New Mums

Author : erlinda villarreal

The saying goes it takes up to 9 months to put on pregnancy weight and will take up to 9 months to lose; yet if you too, like so many new mums, are finding it hard to lose those additional lbs then these tips can help.

1. Make time for yourself

It is simple to snack on the go when you have a baby, however by snacking all day - and on fatty foods - this can make losing body fat complicated and may even cause weight gain. Because of this try to set time aside for yourself where you can pre-prepare dinners for the next day and ensure you are eating a balanced diet.

2. Go for a walk

Taking your child for a stroll to the park or shops, or meeting family for a coffee can all help to workout those limbs and get you working out. The weight of your stroller in particular is fantastic for exercising muscles and will cause you workout harder.

3. Make your own food

Avoid the temptation of cooking ready snacks and aim to cook your own meals from scratch. Most pre-cooked foods are filled with saturated fats and salt that can easily boost your calorie intake. Instead aim to create your own meals from scratch as this will enable you to manage your calorie intake more efficiently. Please Note: if you are struggling to find time to cook, set some time aside for yourself to cook in advance. Utilising your freezer, you can separate these pre-made snacks and space them out over the week.

4. Attend your gym

Now we are not talking about spending hours on the rowing machines here. You can make visiting your local leisure centre entertaining for you and your baby by going swimming weekly. Swimming is a fantastic way to exercise your entire body and have fun with your baby, without straining yourself.

5. Try breastfeeding

You think the concept of breastfeeding inconvenient, particularly when your baby needs milk every 2-3 hours; however breastfeeding has been discovered to burn over 500 calories per day (or 200-600 calories).

6. Train with mates

Going for walks or attending an aerobics class with a mate is an incredible way to stay focused and guarantee that you exercise often. Advice: if you are feeling uncomfortable with your baby weight, why not get another new mum to go with you and use each other as encouragment.

Getting rid of excess lbs after having a child doesn't have to be difficult or stressful. Include any of the above tips in your regime and you can soon get in shape.

However if you are seriously finding it hard to shed weight, then a proven fat loss supplement such as Proactol PLUS can help.
