Why Use An SEO Web Design?

Author : Frances Woodley

Web Design is a term that can mean a lot of things in the World Wide Web. A Web Design defines how a website will be viewed and how it will function while the pages are still in the works (programming stage). There are many functions that can be incorporated on to the web design while it's still on the programming stage. Web designs may use web templates, links, other programs (like java), forms, and applications, which make the website fully functional. An SEO web design has a specific function when it comes to formulating a website.

Web Design is entirely different from print publishing. Although a website has web pages, even a web designer wouldn't know how many web pages are in his website. The website design may also use multimedia and video streaming which can be updated anytime. Most web designs have the following basic aspects:

Structure: The structure of a website is like a building's blueprint. It makes the website look more organized and professional.

Content: This is the body of the website and is where the main purpose of the website lies.

Functionality: The website should be accessible to all, which means that the design and the programming used can be accessed by viewers internationally, no matter what browser they're using.

Appearance: The website should be attractive but mustn't look over crowded. In this aspect, a web designer can choose to include pictures and multimedia to make the website more appealing and personalized.

The first page of the website, typically known as the home page, usually has the internal links for the other web pages within the website, hence, there is no need for a viewer to scroll through all the web pages just to reach their target page. This strategy makes the website more user friendly.

An SEO web design incorporates keywords on to the web content so when someone types that word on a search engine, the target website will come up as one of the results. Companies use this as a form of marketing strategy. Web Designs that are optimized for search engines get the benefit of driving traffic to their website, and possible closed deals. "SEO" is an acronym for Search Engine Optimization; hence, the name itself implies that if an SEO web design is being used in a website, the website will work collaboratively with search engines, which makes the website automatically "searchable" on the World Wide Web. Websites which do not use search engine optimization often lead to dry traffic and do not get too many website hits.

There are methods that can increase the standing of a website within the search results. Aside from an SEO web design, cross linking from one web page to another inside the same website can provide more links to more significant information within the website. This allows the viewer to see other offers the company is offering or other relevant information that the viewer is trying to search. Once viewers find that the website they are visiting has all the relevant information they need, the website will get increased traffic, and word of mouth will also draw attention to their website.
