A Brief Introduction To The Chinese Astrology Dog

Author : Samantha Frost

Most people in the Western world believe that they have only one Chinese zodiac animal. In truth, each individual has three assigned to them. These animals are assigned based on the birth hour, month, and year. This is why you could be a Chinese astrology dog and have never known it.

The signs each represent a different aspect of the individual in question. The year, also known as the outer sign, defines the ways in which others view a person. The month, also known as the inner sign, is a depiction of the way that individual wishes they were. The hour, also known as the secret sign, represents how that individual really is. This sign is the most difficult for an outsider to find out, making it secret and precious knowledge.

Each of the animals of the Chinese zodiac are grouped into one of four trines. The trines define broad qualities of the signs grouped within. The dog is in the third trine, which consists of the free spirited, romantic, and idealistic.

The Chinese zodiac did not always have animals associated with it. There are many variations on the fable of how the animals were assigned to the zodiac, but all of them have a few things in common. The first is that the rat tricked the cat in some way, leading to its exclusion from the zodiac. The second is that the animals were assigned in the order in which they arrived. Third, the rat gained it's first place by riding on the ox, then jumping ahead at the last minute.

The dog sign represents those who are very loyal. These people are smart, straightforward, and honest. They have a great sense of right and wrong, but it can occasionally get out of hand turning into excessive moralism and idealism.

At their best dogs are humble and friendly. At their worst they become pessimistic and stubborn. The dog is a good symbol of this sign as real dogs posses many of the traits of the dog of the Chinese zodiac.

A Chinese astrology dog sign is born under these times: the majority of 1934, 1946, 1958, 1970, etc..., the ninth lunar month or October twenty-third to November sixth, and from eight to ten pm even though the animals of the zodiac vary in different Asian countries, the dog is one that is always present.
