Walnuts, almonds and all other types of nuts are also found to be beneficial. Legumes, red wine, green tea, blue berries and cranberry juices are also recommended. This is a simple yet effective way to combat high cholesterol levels. It is also an effective measure to trim down excessive body weight that also acts as an aggravating factor. Thus, with proper diet and exercise, a healthier heart and less unwanted and unnecessary fats are attained. Also, poorly controlled medical conditions may also worsen the scenario. For instance, poorly controlled diabetes may heighten hormonal imbalances and cholesterol levels as well. Furthermore, adequate rest and sleep periods are also important to boost the immune system and to enhance cell's regeneration and proper functioning. Lastly, it is important to live a stress less way of life. Researches have revealed that people who experience too much stress have the tendency to crave on foods more, particularly on comfort foods that are usually salty and sweet.
