How To Build Your Own List For Internet Marketing

Author : Michel Maling

Building your own list should be your top priority as an internet marketer. Most people fail online because they fail to do this vital step with a good autoresponder that will practically put your business on autopilot for you.

It is no secret amongst all the successful marketers online that they all have lists that enable them to succeed online and get repeat sales month after month. For most successful internet entrepreneurs, success did not happen overnight. It took time, hard work and dedication, but once they had a big list, they started being successful online.

You need to spend some money to make some money. Most reputable companies online don't offer quality services for free. The same goes for building a list. List building should be your first priority online, as without this you will never make a good income. Using your free Yahoo or Gmail account is not going to work for you here. You will wear yourself out trying to keep track of everyone and reply to all your prospects. You will also look very unprofessional in the process.

You need to have your own list if you plan on being successful online. In fact your main priority should be to build a list of quality prospects for yourself. The best way to achieve this is to use a sequential autoresponder. With an auto responder you can put your business in automatic mode quite easily. Once your prospect opts in to receive your mailings, the auto responder will automatically send them a series of Emails of your choice.

This method of marketing makes a lot of sense, as it is easier to sell something to an existing client, than to sell something to a brand new client. By building a relationship with the members on your list, you are gaining their trust, and letting them see that you are an expert in your field. As you build a relationship with your list, they will trust your judgment more.

Once you have a list, guard it with your life. Don't try and sell them something on every Email that you send out, or your unsubscribe rate will be high. Make the content of your Emails worth reading, and ensure that the content will enrich the lives of your readers in some way. If you look after your list, they will in turn look after you.

People love to get stuff for free, so one of the best ways to entice somebody to join your list is to offer them something for free. Keep your list happy by offering them good content and perhaps throwing in some freebies every now and then.

The hardest part of this process should be building your list, but in most cases, people get stuck on things like squeeze pages, thank you pages and getting it all set up. Don't get too stuck on these aspects of building your list. Get help if you can't get it right, as by not building your list from the early days, you are leaving money on the table.
