Giving Pictures The Edge With Beautiful Frames

Author : R Deans

It is said a picture can say a thousand words, so what better way to make those words be noticed than by framing a picture? A frame can enhance an already beautiful picture, piece of art or perhaps a photo, it will draw a persons attention towards something that should be noticed. Although a phenomenon in nowadays, picture framing isn't a recent discovery and in fact goes far back into history.

Looking back to when art was originally discovered, frames were utilised even then, to showcase a piece. In earlier history, beautiful artwork could only be bought and afforded by very wealthy upper-class people, lots of whom were royalty. The luxury of owning art around the home was something to be proud of, and hence large and often ornate frames were used to make art stand out to individuals. The more elaborate the frame, would mean the more appealing the piece would become.

This practice of using frames to draw out the finer details of artwork has not been lost today. In a museum, it is found that frames are carefully selected for each individual piece of art. The wrong frame can cause a piece of art look dull and without feeling and depth – the correct frame can transform that same work of art into a masterpiece. A simple frame can highlight the simplicity of a picture whilst a large, golden ornate frame can add depth and beauty for an intricate piece of artwork.

This level of framing capability is not limited to galleries and museums, nor is artwork limited solely to royalty and wealthy upper-class citizens anymore. It is possible for anyone to make their house look stunning with beautiful artwork and museum level framing within the home. For those who have a beautiful piece of art or perhaps a photo or picture which you treasure, consider a bespoke framing service where you can have a frame made especially to compliment your picture. This level of framing will ensure that the picture is well cared for and can give any piece of art the love and care it truly deserves.

Picture framing might have started centuries ago, but it's certainly a large phenomenon today, with the picture framing industry booming more than ever. It's possible for anyone to have an eye-catching, breath-taking piece of art in their home for family and friends to admire. With so many choices available in the art world along with a selection of companies offering bespoke framing there is something out there to accommodate all tastes. For as long as art and the appreciation of it have existed, so has the act of framing art. For many framing is an art form in its own right, and it is now accessible for everyone.
