Marx trains are some of the most beloved and treasured toy trains in history. It all started when Louis Marx founded his company in New York in 1919. The Louis Marx and Co existed in business till 1978. Marx trains were very well-liked amongst replica train collectors and they were one of the most well loved trains of their time. replica trains were a exceedingly accepted pastime and pastime in the 1920’s and 30’s. The pastime and trend of the model train started amongst the kids of that time and as they got big, they carried this love of trains along into their middle age. By this time, a lot of the companies that were so well loved went out of business and therefore the value of those trains started rising as they became more and more rare.

Why do people like amassing antiques? Well, it is because of a tendency to possess something extraordinary and beautiful. Products that are made today are ordinary but something that has survived the test of time and comes from another era generates interest as a result of its rareness. Products from the older eras also tend to be handcrafted and of the highest quality and design. As these products age, they become more and more precious. That is the reason that they deserve to be cared for by a veteran hobbyist. Many people collect antiques for their investment value whereas others collect them because they adore antiques. These people generally never sell their antiques to anyone but simply pass them on to their families when they pass on. As time goes by, these antiques become increasingly more valuable.

So due to way products become increasingly more valuable as they age, these trains became exceedingly expensive to buy. Both Marx and American Flyer trains became popular with little ones in the early to mid 20th century. During Christmas time, it had been common to get large gift wrapped boxes of model train related products. Collecting these trains also became a form of fashion statement. admired logos were seen across shirts, hats and mugs around that time.


As we all know, in this era of xbox and television, simple hobbies like model train collecting have become less popular. But hobbyists still exist and the love for these artworks still survives to the present day. There are lots of clubs and message boards online where people meet to trade and discuss this engrossing hobby that has brought happiness to so many people for more than a hundred years.
