Who Wants To Know If Are Over-Feeding Your Dog?

Dogs today that are suffering from obesity are living shorter lives, plus they become very lazy and inactive. Learn secrets today to avoid the mistakes that many dog owners make by over feeding their dogs.

The subject that everybody is talking about is obesity and over weight, due to the fact that over a third of Americans are suffering form obesity, and is creating increasing anxiety for health authorities, but our overweight dog problems seem to take a back seat.

However after a little digging around so to speak it is a fact that 25% of our dogs in the UK are overweight and leading to major health problems with regard to our dogs.

So what are the repercussions of overfeeding dogs?

The number 1 reason you should not overfeed your dog is over weight dogs in many cases can suffer from fatal diseases, for example; diabetes, arthritis, heart problems, furthermore this leads to a very inactive unhappy dog.

If you can take yourself back to why you decided to have a dog in the first place, then the reasons most people do is to spend quality time with him or her, out in the fresh air in the park or the country, and even days at the beach, plus the fact is he or she becomes your best friend.

By giving dogs too much food this takes away a dogs energy and leads to a miserable dog in bad heath. We know very well this does not work in our existence so it makes sense it will fail to work in our dog's existence.

Another consideration is the cost, not only are we throwing away dollars buy buying too much food for our dogs but paying out loads of money in vet bills.

A good example of healthy people are those who eat the right foods and prepare them with a little thought for themselves and there loved ones, so the point is we should give the same consideration to our pets?

Many dog owners are now realizing that it is a very important issue to what we feed our dogs, instead of just settling for what is on the supermarket shelves why not make your own dog food; there are numerous benefits to the facts it will not contain skin, bones, carcases, sugar, and fat, which numerous mass produced animal foods do which in turn can only create over weight dogs.

And what's more mass produced dog meals in numerous instances are meant to have a nice taste in order for our dogs to like it and will require more, and this can have a knock on affect to eating too much, we are very diligent to know how many calories we require for ourselves so we need to do more of the same for our dogs.

Let's look at the negatives to preparing our own dog foods, it takes more time and thought this is true, but the positives out weigh the negatives by far. Primarily the obesity problem would cease to exist, the vet account would be less, your dog will be in better physical condition, and last but not least you can get back to giving your dog enough exercise and enjoy your relationship with your dog.

At length you can be in charge of the food that your dog consumes, and this can only be a positive towards the best health for your dog.
