Get Rid Of Back Acne

Author : alice rose

Acne presents itself in a number of ways with the face and upper neck being the most commonly affected parts. However, the chest, back and shoulders are at times affected as well. Just like facial and neck acne, various parts of the body including the back can develop acne arising from stress and hormones. Most of the acne on the back and those little unsightly pimples are caused by wearing too tight clothing. This type of acne is usually called "Acne Mechanica" and can develop when wearing backpacks or getting too rough massages, or simply when carrying anything that constantly rubs against the shoulder blades or the back.

However other factors might contribute to the formation of acne on the back which are specific factors to acne development on this area of the body. For instance, tight clothing might be one possible culprit. By wearing tight clothing, this forces perspiration from the skin to be trapped against your skin which can lead to irritation. Acne is a skin condition which when left untreated can be very frustrating and problematic. You can find them on your face, back, neck, shoulders and chest. Acne and blemishes are usually divided into two groups, the inflammatory type and the non-inflammatory type.

Prevention is one step to consider when suffering from back acne; stopping a problem before it starts is the best and easiest acne plan! Clothing especially can play a large role in causing breakouts on the back by trapping perspiration and bacteria close to the skin. There are many back acne treatments available in all fields of medicine including herbal and natural medicine. In treating back acne one should exercise patience. It is for sure a long term treatment. Since there are lots of treatments for acne people tend to switch from one to the other, this can produce undesirable effects.

One thing that remains the same in treatment is to keep the back clean. You can easily do this by bathing or showering frequently, especially after working out. Be sure to use a cleanser that contains salicylic or glycolic acid. Aside from finding cure, you need to couple your efforts with measures that will facilitate the cure for your condition. You can do this by bathing regularly and maintaining proper hygiene to rid yourself of dirt and bacteria that are causes of back acne. Back acne appears when the pores and hair follicles on your back get clogged due to the excessive oil or sebum secreted by the sebaceous glands. Sebum along with dirt and other particles clog the pores resulting in whiteheads, blackheads, pimples etc.

For mild back acne, begin by washing the back with an anti bacterial cleanser such as Cetaphil. The skin should be dried with a towel gently. Now, follow it up with 10% benzoyl peroxide cream and gel. Then, let it dry. Another thing to bring up when discussing back acne is back packs. Serious back packs rub on the back and may lead to irritation. As irritating as it seems, you may want to try hand held bag for the first few weeks of this back acne regimen.
