Sleep is a vitally important aspect of human life. In dreams, many inventions have been made, and during sleep, many problems have been solved. However, in today's fast paced world, many of us don't get enough sleep. Or the quality of sleep that we do get is insufficient to adequately rebuild our bodies and our minds.
Many people just can't seem to get a good nights sleep. They toss and turn, and wake up feeling more tired than when they went to bed. By far, the biggest blockage to a good nights sleep is stress and anxiety. Most of us have stress, yet most of us are unaware of it.
Stress is funny that way. Once you get used to it, you don't notice it anymore. You could be laying in bed, thinking everything is OK, but in reality, deep below the surface, down in your subconscious mind, there is a lot of worry and anxiety over things you can't really do much about. At least when you're lying there in bed.
So what do you do? The secret is to communicate with your incredibly powerful unconscious mind. The power that resides in your subconscious will allow you to achieve almost anything. It makes sense that self hypnosis is a great tool to vastly improve the quality of your sleep.
The idea to focus on in order to get sleep is to be able to release your worries and anxieties when it's bedtime. Even if you have a heap of problems during the day, worrying about them at night doesn't do one bit of good. In order to get the sleep you need, you'll need to do some reprogramming of your unconscious mind.
First, create a good statement that describes exactly how you'd like to feel when you fall asleep at night. Something like this may be fine:
I release all fears, worries and anxieties when I rest at night. My sleep is peaceful and relaxed. In my dreams come the solutions to my problems, so I can easily solve them. I sleep quickly, and soundly, and wake up feeling refreshed and rested.
In order to really make this sink in, you'll need to get into a relaxed, almost sleepy state when you say this. If you're having trouble sleeping at night, this shouldn't be a problem. A great way to help you get relaxed is to count down from five to one, taking slow, deep breaths with each count.
After you reach one, begin repeating your mantra, softly, and slowly to yourself. Make the statements with as much appreciation as you can, as if your grateful that all your problems have been solved. After going this a few times a day (which shouldn't take more than five or ten minutes) for a week or two, your sleep problems should be gone for good.
