Back and Neck pain are the common types of pains in adults. There are a various causes of these pains and also various kinds of treatments like mental, physical and spiritual treatments. When all the three types are combined together, they form the holistic therapy that is used to cure back and neck pain.

Below are different holistic therapies that are very useful for the cure of such pains:

Acupuncture – Acupuncture is a treatment that was founded in China and extensively used by the Chinese for almost 2000 years. Acupuncture has been proved to be very effective to cure the pain for those who have experienced it. This process involves using needles to prick the nerves in order to stimulate the blood flow. In order to relieve neck or back pain, the nerves of spinal cord from base of spine going to the brain are pricked with needles. This stimulates the nerves of spinal cord and help in alleviating the pain. It also promotes blood circulation. The hormones secreted during the process further help in healing. Acupuncture may seem a painful process after knowing the procedure but it is a very safe and painless process.

Yoga –Yoga, another holistic treatment is very effective in curing back pain. This form, originally from India involves spiritual healing. It is being practiced in India from almost 5000 years. It involves breathing exercise, meditation and postures that help in relaxing the body and nervous system and increasing blood circulation. It is believed that as the body attains meditative state while practicing yoga, it relaxes all the nerves and muscles and can effectively cure the pains. Some yoga forms are strenuous than others which can cure the pain more effectively. Sivananda Hatha, a form of yoga is believed to be very effective in back and neck pains.

Neuromuscular Therapy (NMT) – NMT, a new area in holistic therapy is very effective for chronic pains. This is a massage therapy involving application of constant pressure on particular areas of body. It provides relaxation to the muscles and body. The clinics that provide this therapy have specialized practitioners who are trained in this therapy. Like acupuncture, this therapy stimulates the trigger points of the body and provides relaxation to muscles and nerves.

Herbal Treatment – Several herbs are very effective in curing inflammations and pains. They have the ability to cure pains and relax the muscles. Boswellia is a muscle relaxant and an anti-inflammatory. It increases the blood circulation in the inflamed areas of the body like the back or neck. Ginger is another herb that has the ability to reduce the secretion of certain hormones in body pain.
