Collectible Pins

Collectible Lapel Pins have been around for years. Sororities and fraternities have given them out to their sisters and brothers for years as a way to promote unity. In some cases, many groups and teams still do. Sports teams as well as college clubs still give out these Lapel Pins as a sign of belonging as well as a means to identify their own. The Free Masons and people claiming to be of the Knights Templar are one of the oldest groups that have been giving out these now collectible pins. If ever you were to find one, they are worth thousands of dollars. 

Motorcycle Lapel Pins are given out to all the members of biker gangs to show their affiliation in the gang as well as to let others know who they belong to. In many cases, Hell's Angels as well as Gypsy Jokers Motorcycle Lapel Pins are collectible items, if you can find any. The pins are often taken from the deceased member and given to their family as a sign of protection. Many family members do not give them up in the instance that they may someday need that assistance that having the Motorcycle Lapel Pins offer. There are several different ones available through the biker gangs, too. Depending on your rank or what your position was, you could have numerous pins to show your importance. 

During the times of baseball cards in your bubble gum, often times, packs of cards could be purchased with baseball trading pins in them as well. The baseball trading pins would be of team emblems or specific players that were being featured in the news or on the team. Many of these Lapel Pins are now considered to be antiques as they don't make them any longer. They are increasingly hard to find unless you know a collector or you frequent antique shops or auction sites such as eBay. Teams like the Yankees, Mets, Red Sox and Cubs were the most predominantly featured teams. Because of this, there are some biased opinions about whether these teams produced the pins or if it was the manufacturer of the cards.
