As libraries of video content grow, the ability to catalog and find content becomes very difficult. Searching capabilities on the metadata make it easy to find content based on company definitions such as organization, cost and market focus group.
The management system should also have the ability to import using multiple formats and then encode to one or more preferred formats. Providing upload and download intelligence, the platform must be able to discover the capabilities of the client for transfer rates and connection types. The management software to keep customer requests available should store such preferences.
As content is viewed through the online video player, the most robust feature of the VMS becomes the online sharing capabilities. As the video and widgets are stored together to present content to partner sites, the release or syndication of content to partner or group sites makes it very important to control the flow of video content in and out of the business Web site. Included in this control is the ability to audit content for potential brand or copyright infringement as well as inappropriate content that may damage the company’s image.
