No wimps allowed at the United States Army Boot Camp. If you are not tough by the time you get there you are in a world of hurt along with anyone else in the Army of One, who thinks this is going to be easy. The United States Army recruiter, who sports the slogans; "Keep America Green Join the Army," "An Army if One" and "Get Your College Paid For" probably told you do not worry you can handle it. But you are in the Army now, not behind a ploy digging a ditch and well you get the point.

Boot camps are also increasingly designed for juvenile offenders. These troubled teens live and serve in boot camps, while they are given training on how to live better in society. They are also taught some professional skills. Parents with problem children often send them to juvenile boot camps.

Classes begin with a simple warm-up exercise like squatting or sit-ups or walking on the treadmill. Usually people perform these exercises in groups and then alternate their exercises. This helps to break the monotony. As the class progresses, the exercises become more and more difficult. There is just no letting go till the class is complete.

The drill instructors are there specifically to try to get you to break. The military, especially elite branches like the USMC, don't want quitters among their ranks. The drill instructors don't hate you, but they have to ensure that only the best get through. They want to break you, so don't let them. Make it a point of pride to put up with every demeaning thing they may do or say to you.Make them fail.

Teen boot camps also function by creating uniformity among its members. Teenagers attending such camps have to forgo their contacts with family and friends. They wear uniforms and some teen camps even shave kids' heads to create more harmony among them. In juvenile boot camps, teenagers are not addressed by their names, so that no one is given particular importance. The period that a teenager spends at a boot-camp is followed by a period of aftercare.

The officers of youth boot camps determine that, in the manner of conditioning the troubled youth, he or she could still be saved from the bad deeds and be renewed. Constant mood changes are part of growing up, and these are aggravated by a succession of problems that made these youth commit offenses. Sometimes, the lack of the parental guidance or guidance from the youth's family is the main cause of the problem. For these reasons, some of the programs and activities of youth boot camps are intended to assist the troubled youth on the right path of life.

Boot camps have military-style facilities in order to transform a troubled teen into someone better behaved who follows rules. Thus, these camps have strict military discipline, fear of authority and rigorous physical training for children with different types of military exercises. Juveniles admitted to these camps are often very aggressive and do not listen to anybody, including their parents. At such times, it is advisable for parents to put them for boot camps during summer months as these camps are mainly designed to achieve compliance, control and obedience to authority.
