Attraction Marketing Systems - Mentoring For Free Vs. The Funded Proposal

Mentoring for Free is a downline building system based on attraction marketing. Mentoring for Free is, by definition, an attraction marketing system which makes a compelling offer of free success training and "Success in 10 Steps" ebook for your network marketing efforts. Their free ebook has valuable information about network marketing and weekly training calls are available for ongoing coaching. We’ve seen some very interesting comments about what takes place during conference call, e.g., most members seem to be in one network marketing company, in particular. A “red flag” also went up when the members who contacted us would not share what network marketing company they belonged to.
OK, no problem, but is this system truly what it purports to be? After further research we’ve noted a couple of additional issues with their approach. Most importantly, this is not an affiliate system, or funded proposal. And, it isn’t until page 71 of the ebook that a prospect discovers that there is a $19.95 monthly cost of using the system to build your business. So Mentoring for "Free" has introduced another upfront cost for the new network marketing associate, that can't be "covered" any way other than through network marketing earnings.
An even more concerning issue is that the system isn't customizable, and therefore doesn't allow branding "You, Inc." vs. Mentoring for Free. It is also interesting to note that Michael Dlouhy’s mug shot is front and center on the ebook, and he is very prominently listed as its author. This improves the "brand" of Mentoring for Free and its author/creator, but does little for the member him or herself. There is also an issue of who controls the database of prospects that you have introduced the system. Will Mentoring for Free continue to market the prospects you brought if you leave the system?
The Mentoring for Free training is mostly generic, including in depth information and exposure to working with the main four personality types. Some claim, however, that the "training" on company policies and procedures is biased towards the particular features present in the network marketing opportunity represented by Michael Dlouhy. Is the entire system just a ruse to recruit for one person's personal downline? We can't really judge motives, but according to reports we've seen it is unlikely that any serious leader would use this system to train their downline, for obvious reasons.
On the surface, this ingenious downline builder appears be based on very laudable concepts of giving value first. It is, however somewhat transparent in it’s motivation and branding, at the same time. Mentoring for Free is also not customizable for individual "branding."
