Around a year ago, our family was asked if we would foster a few puppies and kittens for a local no-kill animal shelter. My family and I talked it over and decided that it will be a very good idea. We would all enjoy a new puppy to play with. Nevertheless, with 2 dogs, two felines, guinea pigs, and tropical fish, our family definitely did not require an additional permanent family member.
Temporarily housing the canines was fun. It provided our family a chance to let the foster canine become better socialized around adults along with young children. Our dogs loved having fun with them too. The kids enjoyed getting a new buddy to play with for several weeks while he waited to be fixed. When the dog was spayed or neutered, it could be eligible to become adopted and discover his permanent home.
We didn't realize that these fantastic foster pets would at times show up carrying the nightmare fleas. Unlike regular fleas, which had been terminated by our pet's flea treatments, these fleas seemed impervious. Evidently they grew up in a habitat where a lot of the dogs and cats have been on flea remedies and they were able to flourish regardless. Precisely what this meant, is that the same flea treatment that previously worked for us for a year or so was no longer working.
After that we started having issues with flea allergies. Our canines began with scratching and then it developed with other health problems. These included ear infections as well as a dog hot spot. With some dogs they may have a lot of flea bites and it actually won't trouble them. On the other hand with a canine with flea allergies, it only takes a couple of bites to make a real difference. Everyone recognized we had to eliminate the fleas soon otherwise our canine's health would truly be placed at risk.
After conducting a ton of research on the web, we chose to give Advantix a test. After having tried 2 to 3 different types from our vet, we did not know what to expect. In contrast to a few of the veterinarian's brands, which you have to get via their office, Advantix is available on the web.
I was astonished to find that Advantix stopped the fleas. According to their website Advantix stops fleas from biting in under 5 minutes and will start killing fleas inside of an hour or so. Within just 12 hours most if not all of the adult fleas are lifeless. It also has a compound that helps repel fleas for one whole month to help keep them off your canine and from biting from the get go.
Since we started making use of Advantix, our flea issues with our dogs have receeded. Unfortunately, we cannot utilize Advantix on our kittens and cats. Advantix is really dangerous to cats and kittens and should by no means be used on them.
K9 Advantix was the first flea medication that we discovered to halt the extremely resilient fleas on our dogs. Since we have dogs with flea allergy symptoms, it is imperative that we get rid of the fleas and other insects as quickly as possible and Advantix accomplished this.
I was very happy to discover that there is now a generic K9 Advantix thats roughly half the cost of the brand name version. This enables us to buy the exact same flea medication that we believe in but for a lot less funds.
