It is not fully clear how the test came about, however it has been in existance for some time now. I recommend you use it as an indicator only as it is only meant to provide an indication, and should not be relied upon as your only form of diagnosis.

Listed below is how to go about the Candida Spit Test;

Fill up a clear glass with water and place it by your bed or somewhere that you will notice it as soon as you get up the next morning.

As you get up, you may need to wait for some saliva to build in your mouth. Once this has happened spit it into your glass.

Make sure this is the very first thing you do. Do not drink or eat anything first or clean your teeth.

Even a quick kiss from your partner will mess up the results. I am certain they can wait for a minute or 2.

Immediately make note of how the saliva looks.

Once you have sorted out that good morning kiss you should re assess the appearance of your spit.

Try and observe your Candida spit test again in 15 min intervals.

In a perfect world you would take note of the results of your Candida Spit test over a 60 minute time frame. The minimum time frame should be half an hour.

Healthy saliva will be clear, it will float on top and it will slowly dissolve into the water without any cloudiness and without sinking.

There are normally some bubbles or foam present.

Candida saliva will have one or more characteristics that point to a Candida albicans overgrowth:

A stringyness that goes towards the bottom.

Your saliva may drop to the bottom and or develop a cloudiness.

You may observe a cloudy type of speck hanging in the water.

If you see any or all of these signs and that they develope quite quickly, these are an indication that you have a problem with a yeast infection.

If your candida spit test gives you an indication that you in fact are likely to have a yeast infection, I suggest you firstly starting taking a look at your diet, this is often where the problem begins.

The food types that typically contribute are, Dairy, Breads and grains, and fruits and juices that have high sugar content.

In different circumstances, preganancy, long term smoking, and diabetes are responsible for the onset of a yeast overgrowth.

Seeking the advice of your General Practitioner is obviously something you need to do. Please treat your Candida Spit Test as just an easy test to do prior to seeing the doctor. They can run their tests to diagnose what is going on in much more depth than the Candida spit test.
