Romero Britto’s Art Is Perfect For Any Shop Or Lounge

Author : Damian Higgens

Looking for a new piece of art for your shop or lounge? Well, do I have the perfect artist for you!

When going to coffee shops, especially the “hip” ones downtown, I see a lot of really good art. It tends to litter the walls in all the beatnik shops, and even finds its way into higher end shops. The art in question takes a slightly abstract twist on everyday items, most commonly coffee and tea related. One of my favorite artists in this genre is Romero Britto, a Brazilian artist whose art can be found word wide.

Born in Recife, Brazil in 1963, Romero Britto was the seventh of nine children, and lived a life surrounded by art. It wasn’t until his brother brought home some art books that he understood that it could be a profession as well. Despite working his way through law school, Romero used art as an outlet and explored many different avenues and materials before he finally settled on his own unique style.

Romero Britto’s art can’t really be compared to any other artists, at least in my opinion, seeing as how it is so unique. If I had to compare, though, I would say that his art reminds me somewhat of Picasso’s with his use of scale and color. Britto’s Art, as I said earlier, is known worldwide. While very popular in South America, Britto’s work is also well known throughout Europe and is becoming more and more popular in North America.

Since his art is perfect for the coffee shop scene, it would fit perfectly in your own shop or lounge, assuming that’s the kind of atmosphere you want to have. With modern twists on old styles, all while bringing in his own uniqueness and flair, Romero Britto has earned his place as one of my favorite artists. Not only for me, but for millions around the world, which is exactly why his art seems to be in such high demand? Get yourself an original or a reprint, either way; you’ll add the class and personality that is taking the world by storm.
