World Cup Final Odds: Netherlands Against Spain Gambling

Two squads that have never won a World Cup championship will face off in the final on Sunday in World Cup betting as the Netherlands competes with Spain in a competition that can be seen on ABC television. This will be the first ever appearance for Spain in the final, while the Netherlands has been in the final 2 times in their history, losing in 1974 and in 1978. Spain in fact lost their 1st competition in this year's World Cup 1-0 to Switzerland. They've allowed only one goal since that loss. David Villa has scored five of their seven goals and is even with Sneijder for the Golden Boot. Spain is packed with expertise and it showed as they totally owned Germany in the semifinals. The midfield of Spain is just brilliant with Xavi, Iniesta and Xabi Alonso. The defense is extremely excellent and goaltender Iker Casillas is one of the best goaltenders on earth. And they have Villa upfront when Spain needs a goal. There are not a lot of weaknesses on this Spanish squad and they're a worthy favorite.
The Netherlands has been extraordinary in the World Cup odds and they've got the expertise to compete with Spain except in goals. Holland has Robben and Sneidjer plus they've got a fantastic duo in Nigel de Jong and Mark van Bommel in the middle. Not to be neglected are Dirk Kuyt and Robin van Persie. The issue for the Netherlands is that goalie Maarten Stekelenburg is not in the class of Casillas. Spain is likely to have the edge if the competition boils down to which goaltender makes a important save. Alternatively, the Netherlands is the only squad in this year's World Cup to not lose a single game.
Neither of these nations has ever won the World Cup before, so this year will be a unique one. Either the Netherlands or Spain will become the 8th country to join the pretty short list of nations that have won the World Cup. If Spain wins it, they will become the 1st squad in history to claim the World Cup after losing their 1st game. If the Netherlands do, they would be the 1st squad since Brazil in 1970 to win every competition in the World Cup on the way to the championship. The winner of this match will be making history for their country one way or another.
