Different people have different opinions about the best type of vacuum cleaner. The fact is, a vacuum needs to suit your requirements for it to be useful. It's not because of certain feature or type. To start with, there are three common types of vacuum cleaner. Backpack, canister and upright.
Upright type is suitable for people who want a machine that is easier to push and doesn't need much bending and pulling. Some of you may have not so good experience with it. The good news is, things have changed quite a bit in recent years that it is versatile. Besides preferences, before buying upright vacuum cleaner, you need to understand your requirements first.
Personally, I like upright model because it has a hose with various attachable accessories for cleaning different areas of the home. You can even clean ceiling fans, corners, tight spaces, and baseboards with the right attachment. For multistory homes, many upright vacuum cleaners have adjustment for cleaning stairs. When a person is choosing an upright vacuum cleaner they will want to look at these specific features on the vacuum to make sure they are getting just what they need.
The next question is, should you go with bag or bagless model? In recent years, the bagless model has gained popularity among many households.
What is the difference? In short, with the bagless model, you gather all the dust in a canister on the body and empties it periodically. It saves some money because you don't have to buy and replace the bag. On the other hand, allergy sufferers prefer bag model with seal because emptying it will be much less messy. Neither type of vacuum works necessarily any better it is simply a matter of preference in the elimination of the waste products.
When it comes to price, an upright vacuum cleaner costs between $100 to $500. Some models are slightly less. Some cost much more. If a basic model with less features is all you need, you can expect to pay much less. But cost can run up to the thousands of dollars if you want powerful features.
A bit of research should give you an idea about which model is within your budget. Think of a vacuum cleaner as an investment. Many of them are not only affordable, but also last for a few years. High-end vacuum cleaner may cost a bit more, but it may be worth the spending, considering that it may offer years of full warranty. Whatever your decision is, it is a matter of choice.
