Know The Process Of Photo Recovery

Author : Kelley Spene

These are the steps involved in photo recovery in the basic order in which you should encounter them. Most important to remember is not to pay for software before you have seen it work and you have laid eyes on your photos you thought were lost forever.
1. Download the software to your computer and install the software (often this is done automatically by the software download, but it might be a necessary manual step).
2. Connect your device to your computer. For memory card recovery you can plug in the camera (be sure the memory card you want to search is inside camera) using the USB cord or plug the memory card into a memory card reader if you have one connected to your computer. Plug USB drives directly into computer. If given a choice of program to run, select none.
3. Open the photo recovery software you downloaded and select a drive or device upon which to search for the lost photos.
4. A list of "recoverable" photos will return and good software like Photo Nose(tm) will include preview images so you can physically see which ones you want to recover.
5. Select the files you wish to retrieve by checking the box next to the file and designate a place on your computer to save them (best is to make a new folder on your desktop so they're easy to find when you're done with all this).
6. Pay for the software at this time. After your payment is received, the software publisher will display your license code on your screen AND e-mail a copy to you at the e-mail address you enter (so be certain to enter it properly).
7. Copy the license code using your mouse to highlight the entire alpha-numeric code and paste it in the software when you are prompted for the license.
8. The software recovers the photos you selected and saves them in the place you designated.
9. Now you can reformat your memory card and use it in your camera again to take more great pictures.
10. The license you purchased should work if you need to ever search for photo files again on another memory card. Many publishers of photo recovery software (such as Photo Nose) offer access to any upgrades they make to the software for free as long as you live.
