In this article I will discuss how easily you can learn to snowboard at little cost.
I will give you a short introduction as to:
1. How to find Snowboarding Lessons
2. What you need to buy to go Snowboarding
3. What you need to wear for your first Snowboarding lesson
Learning to snowboard is always the hardest part, in fact thinking about learning to snowboard and actually getting your feet on a snowboard is the hardest part.
I can guarantee you, that once you get onto those slopes you will be hooked. Snowboarding is great fun but also dangerous so I recommend that you take lessons before you hit the slopes.
Finding lessons is not that difficult, the best way to find lessons would be to call your local ski slope and they will put you in contact with a professional instructor.
I do recommend that you contact a professional instructor rather than your friend as these instructors know how to convey and teach in an appropriate manor.
Of course you can hit the slopes on your own feet and learn the hard way but you are putting yourself and others at risk. Also you wouldn’t be giving yourself the best chance at learning and may give up ahead of time.
What do I need to buy?
In one of my earlier articles I wrote about the gear you would need when snowboarding, but right now you are at a stage before that.
I would first recommend that you rent the gear from your instructor or from the local snow boarding slopes. When you pay to use certain slopes, they will provide the gear for FREE.
The reason for renting the gear is simple, in the fact that it will save you hundreds if you feel you do not like the extreme sport after a few weeks.
What do I need to wear for my snowboarding lesson?
When snowboarding on the slopes, all you will need to bring is your warmest clothes, or body warmers if you have them.
Snowboarding can become miserable if you’re cold and wet and especially when you are learning you might feel it is not for you. However if you come prepared you will really enjoy it. So what do you need to bring to your snowboarding lesson without spending anything?
First off, you will need to bring warm gloves and if you can, waterproof gloves, the thicker the gloves the better. Look at home for body warmers and bring them along.
It is important that the clothing you bring is waterproof as you will soon find out that everything gets wet. At least if you have waterproof clothing you will stay dry for longer.
Secondly, you must wear sunglasses, if you don’t you may run the risk of going blind since the sun reflects off the snow and you will find it challenging to snowboard.
That’s all for now in this article I hope you found the reading helpful, now go get snowboarding.
