If you like easy to learn card tricks that are a snap to perform, you've come to the right place. This simple trick will seem to be incredibly confusing to the audience, so the reveal at the end is particularly amazing. You don't need any special skills or sleight of hand moves. You can do this trick alone, or amongst many others.
This is the way the trick will unfold to your happy audience. You produce two packs of cards, with a different design on the back. You ask an audience member to come forward to help you out. You give them one deck, and instruct them to do the same thing as you. You both shuffle the cards a few times, and then switch decks with them.
After you switch decks, you both go through the deck, and choose a card. Take out your card, put it on top of the stack, and have them do the same. Cut your deck a few times, and have them do the same with theirs. Then you exchange decks once more. After that you have them search through the deck, and find their card, putting it face down on the table. You do as they do, and put your card along side of theirs. So the both of you have picked your respective card from your respective decks. They will be astonished beyond belief when they see that both cards are the same.
Here's the trick. Prior to handing over the deck, steal a sneak peak at the bottom card. After that, they select a card and put it on top. When they cut the cards, they will be placing the card that you've seen on top of their cards. No matter how many times they cut the deck, their card will be underneath the card that you've seen.
So when you switch decks a second time, you simply pull out the card that is underneath the card that was on the bottom of the deck before you gave it to them. They will, of course, pick the same card from your deck, as it's their chosen card. There is so much activity, deck swapping, card cutting, etc., they'll quickly lose track. So naturally, they will be incredibly impressed when time and time again, your card matches theirs.
There are a couple ways to set this up, or set up your "story" to go along with this trick. You can claim to be psychic, and read their minds. Or you can chastise every time for breaking into your mind and reading your thoughts. Or if you want to have some fun, just pretend that you have no idea what is going on, and the two cars being the same is a complete mystery. Have a good time with this easy trick.
