The beginning of almost every network marketers career starts with an emotional decision. It is usually about hope, desperation, or just plain excitement. Most of them have no idea what it takes to be a successful business owner because they have never owned any type of business.
When you have never done it before, spending money on a business and investing a lot of time doing radically different activities will feel very uncomfortable and strange. Everything you do will be influenced by emotion so every lead you call will feel like it is make it or break it, every meeting you go to will be the one you expect to hear the "big" secret.
Each rejection will be painful and every dollar invested will cause more desperation. Instead of the prosperity or abundance mind-set you need you will be harboring a poverty consciousness that will work against you. 97% of all new marketers quit within 3 months and this is one of the leading causes.
When you sign up because of an emotional decision and let your emotions influence every reaction to you business the results will be painful and almost predetermined. You will never figure out that you are supposed to fail at some things but learn from them too.
Success and failure are really two side of a pendulum. When you allow for huge failure you set yourself up for huge success. When you limit yourself to small failure you limit yourself to small success. This is a universal law and you cannot limit your failures and have huge success because it doesn't work that way.
True professionals will feel no different about failures as they do about successes. They will know that there is a connection and the more risk of failure they expose themselves to the more potential for success they set themselves up for.
You have to get emotions out of your business if you want to run your business like a professional network marketer. You cannot be emotional about failures or successes. Being enthusiastic and positive is required but emotions have to be left behind in business.
On TV there is a show called Shark Tank and ordinary people come out one by one to pitch a business idea to 4 millionaires. Invariably one of the millionaires will tell the prospect to let their emotions go and do not cry over money because money doesn't care about anything.
Business is about making money and nothing else. When you have a great success it is important not to let emotions in then either because you will be set up for a big let down. What goes up must come down. Another universal law. Become a leader and get rid of emotions in business and you will reach your goals no matter what failures happen along the wat.
There will be many things you try and you will fail at some of them but you must remember that you are not a failure until you quit trying. Become a person of value and position yourself as a leader by teaching what works in business to others.
People join people and the people they join are leaders and it doesn't matter which company you are in, if you are a leader offering value to others you will attract many people to join you. It will be easy to stand out as a professional with all the amateurs out there that are doing it wrong. Help others with their problems and your value as a leader will be obvious to others.
Help as many people as you can by becoming a student of the industry and get the emotions out of your business and you will be network marketing like a professional.
