They are sold on the business opportunity more so than the product. That is why the retention rate is low in MLM businesses. When these types of distributors are not profitable they quit because the product is irrelevant to them.
You will find that the opportunities you do best with are ones where you personally are sold on the product. That is why if you join affiliate marketing businesses you should purchase and use the product yourself and then try to sell it.
From a promotion standpoint most home based business opportunities fail because they do not get enough visitors to their website. Unfortunately,it is not going to get any easier because there are billions of websites competing for attention today.
Learning how to promote your opportunity in a couple of meaningful ways can be the difference between succeeding or failing. Ultimately you need prospects coming to your site every day and either joining your mailing list or purchasing a product.
Promoting on the Internet today will mean learning social media techniques. Video marketing is one of the things you should concentrate on in today's market since over 50% of all traffic coming to a website is via video.
Email marketing still works very well so you should be building a mailing list. Therefore it is mandatory that you either have a blog with a sign-up form on it or your own website.
Other types of social media include blogging, audios, social networking, and social directories. One of the keys to making money is by getting your name out where people are spending their time.
These are the ABCs of any home based business opportunity today. You will make money if you represent good products and promote them in various ways.
