Magic Tricks Revealed: The Unspeakable Psychic Mind Reading Illusion

Author : George Hutton

This is a very easy to learn trick that you'll easily be able to do once you finish reading this article. It requires very little effort on your part, and the crowd, whether it's one of your friends or a group of strangers, will never figure out how you do this. You can do this trick again and again, and they will never figure it out unless you tell them.

Here's is how this staggering trick will appear to your soon to be flabbergasted audience. You mention that you've just learned some powerful psychic mind reading skills from an ancient course you found at your local library. Of course, they will think you are joking, and will demand an explanation. You produce a regular pack of cards, and begin.

You begin by shuffling the cards to prove they are a normal set of cards, and not a trick deck. After that you lay the cards down in a nice pile, and have somebody from the audience take out a card anywhere in the deck, look at it, and put it on top. Then you have them cut the deck as many times as they want. Then you read their mind with stunning accuracy as you pick up the deck and immediately find their card inside. They will be amazed, you will be famous, and everybody will want to know how you did this.

Here's how. (Of course, you don't have to tell anybody if you don't want to). When you first pull out the deck, all you need to do is glance at the card on the very bottom. And while you shuffle, make sure this card stays on the bottom. This is easy to do. Simply cut the deck in half, and begin the shuffle with the half that has the secret card on the bottom. They'll never know you are doing this unless they are specifically looking for it.

After they sort through the deck and decide on a card, they'll put it on top, as instructed. After they cut the deck, the card on the bottom (your secret card,) will go right on top of their card. So when you pick the deck up, their card will always be after your secret card, as you fan through the deck from the bottom up.

You can have them cut the deck as many times as they want, and the chances of them separating their chosen card from your secret card is exactly one in fifty two. So unless you are going to let them cut the deck fifty two times, their card will always be next to your secret card in the deck. A fun way to do this is to choose a couple of volunteers and have them each cut the deck once.

After you know their card, you can reveal it in many different entertaining ways. One way is to quickly move their card to the top of the deck. This is easy since when you do this only you will be looking at the faces. After that you can utter some magic and tap the top of the deck with your wand. Another way is to quickly move it to the top, hold the deck under a table, then quickly take the card off the top, flip it around, and stick it back in the deck someplace. That way their card will be the only one facing the opposite direction. Have fun.
