The Direct Sales Business That Will Work

Every successful business has a great system that anyone can follow. McDonald's sells more average burgers than anyone using one of the best marketing plans ever.

That is one of the most important reasons they are so successful. The other reason is their system. It is easy to duplicate because it is so simple. It is laid out with specific tools and instructions.

Duplication is one of the biggest problems in home based businesses. Most people are taught a system that takes a salesman's personality to be successful. These "old school" methods are from before the Internet though.

McDonald's is one of the biggest global corporations and it is being run by high school kids. You could trace every job there down to 3 basic chores.

1. Take orders.
2. Provide customer service.
3. Train new people to take orders and provide customer service.

That is how every store operates. Kids are pushing the on buttons and the system takes care of everything else. That is duplication.

The draw of McDonald's is the experience which is virtually the same no matter which store you are in. The food may be average but it is predictable.

A direct sales or home based business should be set up the same way. The most often missing part is the lead generation system complete with instructions and the tools needed to be effective that anyone can follow.

Home based businesses are supposed to steadily build up in monetary value over time much like a mutual fund. When you hear of an overnight success from some big hitter that says he just made a list of his "warm market" and shared the product and company with his friends and within a few months he was able to quit his regular job, most of the time the part about learning the ropes with another company for a while is left out.

Sometimes there are quick successes but it is rare because you really have to be a leader to succeed in this industry. So you must learn a lot not only about being a leader but running your own business before you will have success.

If you had the right system laid out with tools and instructions it could be easy enough for kids to do. There is a correct order to follow to be successful too. If this order is followed from the beginning you can cut your learning curve way down.

Most people start out with what should be last, the product or network marketing opportunity. The business is all about relationships and even using a fool proof system to generate leads is only part of the job. The other part is picking up the phone and calling your leads.

But you have to start by finding leads. The fool proof system is a 3 part process. First you expose your product with advertising. Second you involve your prospects with follow up messages to qualify them and provide solutions. Last comes your primary MLM.

If you skip any of the steps you will struggle. You give more information with each step and lead into the next step. In the first step you expose your prospects to your lead generation system which is a self liquidating offer instead of promoting your primary home based business. Your lead generation system should also train prospects on how to use modern marketing methods.

This will give you money for advertising and erase your marketing investment so, you can EARN while you LEARN. The second step is promoting a list of products and services that are marketing tools used to automate your advertising and marketing campaigns.

You will be providing a solution for other marketers when promote your system or funded proposal because ti teaches how to generate leads. The second step will teach more methods and how to multiply and automate your efforts.

You create multiple streams of income by promoting services and tools that help in marketing when those things are affiliates of yours. Then in part three you have helped them get their lead system going and they may want to join you in your primary home based business.

People join people they do not join companies and if you have helped them and they like you they will want to join you.

A lot of people fail because they start out by promoting their primary opportunity and product which is really step three of the process. Most people get into business to make money and are misled about the time, effort, and money it takes to be successful in this industry and wind up spending themselves right out of business.

Believe it or not this same business model is used by many different industries. One example is the automobile industry. Do you think most of the money is made from making and selling cars? Wrong! The real money is made with finance charges, extras, parts, repair, etc...

Here is another example; McDonalds, Do you think the majority of their money is made on burgers? Wrong! Their high profit items are sodas, cheese, and fries.

What about Vegas? They advertise shows and restaurants and luxurious hotels to get you there and then they make the real money off of gambling.

System part 1 is the ads that show the showgirls and the lights. System part 2 is the customer service they provide which is famous. Then they get you with the gambling but that is not the focus of their advertising.

Having a system to generate leads for you is crucial but like I said before, it is just part of the job. You still have to call them and build a relationship with your leads. Having a system they can follow just makes it a lot easier to talk to them.
