How To Shoot In Different Positions While Playing Paintball

Author : lee smith

Essex offers a fantastic setting for playing outdoor paintball in the UK. As paintball becomes more popular among people, many exciting variations of the game are being played. From World War I scenarios to forest settings, you will have a day of outdoor fun, mixed with fresh air and excercise.

Shooting techniques are different for different postures and maximum effect can be achieved only if the right technique is used. If you are shooting while lying down, you must remember that the accuracy of your shots will depend on the stability of your elbows. You should not depend on the stability of the front rest of the gun. It is not a good idea to lie down on your stomach completely unless you are trying to hide. The ideal position is to rest on your elbows and in the case that you need to lower yourself, you should move the elbows further out. This way you will also be able to move forward by crawling with your elbows and legs.

When hidden behind a bunker, you should sit with your legs straight forward. The advantage of this position is that you will be able to quickly move your head up to look above the bunker to shoot and then take cover again. Another advantage of sitting is that you can also shoot from the sides of the bunkers. Good reflexes are essential for paintball. Essex paintball facilities are ideal for people who want to hone their skills.

The kneeling position is also preferred because you can start running as soon as required. It is also a fairly stable position and usually people can maintain it for a fairly long period of time. The gun has to be held at level with the eye. Whilst supporting yourself with one knee, you may lower or raise yourself using your back, so that you can run instantly if required.

The crouching position is effective when you have to suddenly stop moving and yet remain ready to run at any moment. To lower yourself, you may bend forward but you should always hold the gun against your shoulder. Though this is the ideal position to start running, some people stand upright and then run. This is useless simply because it is easier and better to start running without standing. This start will give you more acceleration. However, you should remember that it is not possible to maintain this position for very long.

The standing position is used in cases where the distance between the shooter and the target is high. However, practice is required for such long distance shots. There is no substitute for practice for success in paintball. Essex boasts of several facilities where you may polish your shooting skills.
