Online publishers are literally crying out for content. Many website owners want a steady stream of content that they can publish on their site but that they don’t have to create themselves. This is where you come in.
You write educational articles on your topic geared towards the needs of your target readers, and then you submit your article to article directories and other online publishers.
What’s in it for you?
Along with every article you submit, you will also include an author bio, also known as a resource box. In this author bio, you will tell a little about yourself and your business, give the reader a reason to visit your website, and then provide a link to your website.
Every time the article is published and re-published, your resource box is included along with the article, and you create increasing opportunities for people in your target market to click the link in your resource box and reach your website. You also build links to your site, which is effective at elevating your search engine ranking for your keywords.
How do I start Article Marketing?
It's very simple--just start writing and submitting articles. For example, if your website is an online bookstore, you can write articles that are reviewing books. Or if your website is for your ski instruction business, then your articles would be on topics associated with teaching people to ski.
Also write a resource box--usually anywhere from 400-450 characters long. Include your name, a little about you and your business, an incentive for the reader to visit your website, and then a link to your site. The main reason why people do Article Marketing is to get that precious link in the resource box that leads back to their site. Why is that link so important?
People can read your article and then click the link in your resource box and be directly taken to your site.
Here’s another perk: Search engines (such as Google) will calculate the number of links you have going to your website, which will influence your website’s search engine ranking, which will in turn impact the number of visitors to your website. A higher ranking in Google produces more traffic.
What can I expect?
Article Marketing is a perennial favourite tool for building traffic to a website because it:
--is easy to do (pretty much anyone can write an article on their area of specialty and have it accepted by publishers)
--produces reliable results over the long term. Some people see results right away, but I just want to be clear that most of the time you will need to submit articles over the long term in order to see the results you’re looking for. Many amateurs give up in frustration when they don’t see results immediately, but that is good news for anyone who is prepared to make a longer commitment--less competition!
