Clarke Quay – Dining, Shopping And More

Author : James Cook

Clarke Quay is a popular venue in Singapore for dining also offers visitors other activities as well. This destination offers cuisine, shopping options and a taste of Singapore’s proud and long history as port.

Located near the mouth of the Singapore River Clarke Quay was an area that prospered from the boom of trade and its influx of visitors in to the country. Though this purpose has long since declined this area is still alive and strong with a resounding vibrancy. The old market place activity is still lively with throngs of visitors making their way to enjoy the many offerings of this destination. The riverside is packed with restaurants and entertainment spots, wine bars and retail shops that offer visitors a wide variety of activities to indulge in.

A popular attraction located here is the thrill ride known as the G-MAX Reverse Bungee. This exhilarating ride rockets passengers in to the sky before dropping them back down at breakneck speeds making for quite a thrilling experience.

Cuisine is one of the strongest aspects of Clarke Quay and in this regard it does not disappoint.
Cuisine that is on offer here includes Chinese, Italian, Mediterranean and local dishes that provide a wide scope of options for the palette. Two notable and highly reputed restaurants are Hooters and Indochine which are worth a visit. A distinctive aspect is that some of the old junkers are still berthed on the harbour but have now been converted in to pubs and restaurants which provide an interesting dining experience.

Travellers are advised to book one of the many Singapore hotels prior to their arrival in the country for their convenience. Regardless of your budget and other requirements, the sheer number of hotels in Singapore ensures travellers of finding an option that meets their needs.
