How Has Network Marketing Survived As A Business Model?

Author : C Mark Babcock

Are you familiar with the network marketing business model? In the old days it was referred to as multi-level marketing or MLM opportunities. It has been around for 50 years now and amazingly has survived that long!

1. I think the biggest reason this business model has survived is it is built on hope. People join network marketing businesses every day hoping they can make extra money or even get rich.

In the past a few people really achieved that goal. However far many more quit their MLM business.

This was not necessarily a fault of the business model, as much as it was the fault of the individuals themselves. Building a network marketing business in the past was very hard to do, so most didn't.

2. Today affiliate marketing is a popular business model. You can get products now in almost every type of business. This is part of the reason network marketing has survived.

Purchasing products at wholesale is something the average public cannot do. You are also beginning to find MLM businesses in many niches as well.

3. Today the Internet plays a big role in how successful people are in making my money in multi-level marketing. It simply is much easier to build a large business all over the world thanks to the Internet.

No longer do you have to rely on friends and family to jumpstart your business. Now you can market your business and let the Internet sort through prospects to find qualified business partners.

This lets you concentrate on marketing and less on doing things you may not enjoy such as picking up the telephone calling people.

The other thing the Internet does is it make it easier to sell products. This means you can become more profitable faster and do it in a very hands-off way.

Auto ship is a great feature the Internet has brought to network marketers. Now you can sell a product one time and get paid over and over every month your customer has the product shipped to them.

4. Training is another aspect the Internet has brought which helps in building a large downline. The network marketing company can offer training to all of their distributors.

Each individual MLM business owner can offer training to their own group. This is being done through various social media outlets including blogging, videos, audio, online chatting, and so on.

In summary network marketing has survived as a business model because it is easier to make money than at any time in history. As a matter of fact people who failed previously are finally finding success!
