To Control Your Sweating With Iontophoresis Devices And Sweat Protect Antiperspirant Cream

Author : Jamie Hanson

Sweating can be quite embarrassing sometimes as it gives a foul odor and also messes up your clothes with wet patches. Remember how awkward it is to offer a hand covered in sweat for a handshake, or you are required to remove your shoes in certain places and your feet smell of sweat. On top of all this if you are a person who sweats excessively life can become one long embarrassing moment. This can even lead to certain psychological problems like being isolated, getting complexes and being extra conscious of human contact.

The medical term for excessive perspiration is Hyperhidrosis, and the good news is there are now quite a few solutions available to effectively treat this ailment, and one of the most effective one is Iontophoresis therapy. The main advantage of this treatment is that the potential side effects are very limited in number as there is no surgery involved or use of any drugs. The success rate of this therapy treating Hyperhidrosis is also very high.

Iontophoresis therapy involves devices which deliver electric current to the parts which sweat profusely. There are mainly two designs of these devices which are meant for the hands and armpits. These are devices which use the normal electrical supply at home and so there is no requirement for repeated expenses for costly batteries. These devices are safe and your body is prevented to not feel any electric shocks through several safety features built into the devices.

To treat your sweaty problem with Iontophoresis devices, you need to use them initially everyday for at least 10 to 15 minutes. This therapy has to be continued without breaks for 5 to 20 days depending on the bodys need. This is not coupled with the severity of the problem. The repeated use of the devices will reduce the content of moisture present in the skin and bring it to levels which are considered normal. After the consecutive day's treatment, the devices should be used once or twice in a seven day period to maintain dryness. The pulsed current, models of these devices are particularly beneficial for children and for people having a sensitive skin, or end in a more delicate treatment at high current rates and shorter treatment shedules for most users (compared to a "only" direct current iontophoresis treatment).

The other products available in the market to get control of severe sweating are e.g. antiperspirant creams, lotions and sprays. Out of these, a newly developed antiperspirant cream called Sweat Protect has many beneficial qualities and is known to be very effective in controlling perspiration. The main ingredient in Sweat Protect is aluminum chloride which effectively restricts the sweat glands, as it is astringent. Apart from this main ingredient Sweat Protect also has various nourishing oils and ingredients which will enhance your skin, and make it healthier.

Sweat Protect is available in three strengths basic, strong and ultimate. You have to use the appropriate strength depending on the thickness of your skin and where you are applying. The basic strength is for your forehead, shoulders and neck where the skin is thin. The strong type is used on palms and hands where the skin is relatively thicker, and the ultimate is used on the thickest skin like on the feet soles.
