Basic Exercises For The Bicep

When one thinks of getting stronger, the first thing to come to mind are the biceps. Basic Biceps Curl The standard biceps curl targets the whole muscle. Exhale as you bring the bar to the chest until your biceps are fully contracted. Concentration Curl This curl targets the upper biceps. Exhale as your bring your forearm up until it touches your biceps. The preacher pad isolates your biceps as well. Know that other common bicep exercises include the preacher curl , incline biceps curl , cable curl , and the lying bicep curl. Your triceps make up most of your arm and toned triceps give definition to your biceps. The most common biceps exercises include the basic biceps curl, but there are a number of variations that allow you to work your biceps in different ways. Biceps Curls The biceps curl is the most common exercise for the biceps. Biceps Tenodesis A biceps tenodesis is a surgical procedure performed for the treatment of tendonitis of the biceps tendon. When a biceps tenodesis is performed, the tendon is cut and reattached to the arm bone. So as you can see you do not want to tear or detach you bicep.

The most common biceps exercises include the basic biceps curl, but there are a number of variations that allow you to work your biceps in different ways. Use the strength of your biceps to curl the weight in a semicircular arc until you reach the weight completely to the end. This will allow you to hit the peak of the biceps. Using force, contract your biceps once at the finish position, then slowly lower the dumbbells back to the initial position.
