You are very lucky if you can get through life without any toothache pain. For the majority of us, tooth pain is something that we will all experience at some point. Knowing how to get rid of the pain with some effective toothache remedies can really help.
I have had this problem myself a few times in the past and as you will probably know, toothache is no fun. The simple and most obvious answer is to go and visit the dentist.
However this is not always possible because of various reasons.
Firstly there is the cost. A dentist can be really expensive, and if you don't have the money, or insurance, then you are pretty much stuck.
The second problem is that the dentist may not be open for business when you need it the most. For some reason everytime I have had a toothache, it seems to be during the holiday season, when the dentist is closed.
Thirdly, and this is mainly true in my case, you may just hate going to the dentist. I went through a bad episode with a dentist when I was younger, and to say that it left a negative impression on me is a massive understatement. Even imagining the sound of the drill gives me the shakes.
The good news is that in a lot of cases tooth pain can be relieved by using some natural toothache remedies.
I have listed some toothache remedies which have given me results when I needed them most.
One of the first things I will use is Oil of Cloves. You can get it from any pharmacy for very little money. I put a couple of drops on a bit of cotton wool, and squeeze it on the tooth. The oil seeps through the tooth, and into the gum. This numbs the nerve, and helps to relieve the painful tooth.
A simple but sometimes effective toothache remedy is salt. This will work if your toothache is of a mild nature, it will not be that effective if the pain is really bad, but it is worth trying. Get a glass filled with warm water and add some salt to it, then just swish it around your mouth.
Another remedy for toothache is not that appealing, but it is pretty effective. Mash a clove of garlic until it has a consistency of a paste. Use a bit of water to mash it with. You then put the paste around the painful tooth and the gum area. Apply it until it sinks into the skin of the gum. Garlic is a natural antibiotic, and can help with a number of ailments.
There are various other toothache remedies that you can use at home, but I have had the best success with these.
There is the chance that your tooth is so rotten, that the dentist will be the only option. If the damage to your teeth is not that severe, then you should get relief from the pain with the toothache remedies that I have listed. After they have worked for you, make sure that you start taking better care of your teeth, because you really don't want a repeat of this situation.
If you are after a toothache cure which does not involve having to go to a dentist, then you will be happy to know that there are some very effective natural remedies for toothache which can help.
