How much do we earn is not the priority reason to obtain the profession; but it is still an aspect that we need to evaluate. According to the American Academy of Physician Assistants, the starting salary for fresh graduate physician assistants was $76,232 while in full-time clinical practice in 2008 was $89,987; but some experienced physician assistants earned in the $119,000 to $200,000 range.

Besides of the high salary, this profession's demand has been growing in healthcare field. The US Department of Labor reported that this profession will be growth at least 27% by year 2014.

If you are someone who likes challenges, this is a right profession for you. These training program and job scopes are broad they are responsible in many aspects; to take medical histories, examining, preventing, diagnosing, testing and treating of disease and assisting in the surgery. They also treat minor injuries such as wounds; removing casts; changing dressings and providing injection. In some states, a PA may prescribe medical to patients, as it is legal in the State. Apart from that, they are also responsible for administration task such as ordering medical supplies or equipment and managing technicians and assistants. They also work long hour everyday than other professional.

The duration of the training program is shorter than others. It tasks two years to get the license. Another reason is a PA has the chance to work in different places such as hospital, clinic, rural area and even prison. More than 50 percent of physician assistants work in primary care medicine.
