A Sure Fire Way To Get Rid Of Your Spam As Easy As 123

Author : Mike Beale

Tired of dealing with unsolicited e-mail in your e-mail? This successful method works because it employs time proven ideas to ferret the spam from your e-mail. To get started with this strategy you will need either a free e-mail account such as Hotmail or Yahoo or you will need to have your own domain with an inexpensive website hosting account.

To defeat the spammers your first line of defense is a strategy known as disposable e-mail addresses. When you use disposable e-mail addresses the idea is to give each company you deal with a separate e-mail address. Disposable e-mail addresses allow you to instantly block the spammer simply by removing their e-mail account. Those of you who are web site owners will find this strategy very easy to implement. You simply set up forwarding e-mail addresses that go to your main account. For those of you using Hotmail type accounts may not the able to give everyone their own disposable e-mail address. But you still can have a great deal of protection by using multiple e-mail addresses and limiting the number of companies on each address.

The next element in our anti-spam campaign is to deploy and e-mail blocking program directly on the e-mail server. The key point to remember here is that it must be a server based program. Not one of the weak PC add-on e-mail programs that you can download and install on your computer. All of the major e-mail services have such a program and website owners almost always have the option of adding the Spam Assassin junk mail filter program to their e-mail server. The big advantage that a server-based program offers is two levels of spam filtering. First they have access to various anti-spam groups that monitor e-mail addresses that are specifically set up to gather spam. These e-mail addresses are called honey pots. Once a new e-mail is received at one of these addresses, alerts are sent out to the whole network with instructions on how to identify and filter out the new spam mailing. As a second layer of defense, these programs also have sophisticated filters and can recognize e-mail headers that have been obfuscated by criminal spammers.

Being able to automatically sort and route your e-mail inside your e-mail client is the third and final level of defense against the spammers. First of all, any e-mail marked as spam by your e-mail filtering program will go directly to a junk mail folder. That junk mail folder should be set to delete its contents within 15 days. It's OK to look through your junk mail just to be sure it's all spam but never respond to any unsolicited mail. You’re going to find that some companies will send you more e-mail than you want to read even though you initially agreed to be on their list. I suggest you prioritize your mail and then put your high priority e-mail into a single folder and the lower priority e-mail into other appropriate folders. If you followed the first step and gave everyone a different e-mail address, then it will be an easy matter to route that mail once it arrives at your computer.

When you put this three-pronged plan in effect, you'll find that the amount of junk mail getting through to your inbox will be almost zero. So, consider taking a little bit of time and energy right now to eliminate your junk mail problem. Remember that you need all three levels of protection for this plan to work for you.
