A General manger would be required to handle confidential files and sensitive data of the company and should maintain the utmost integrity and professionalism while dealing with such vital information.
Typically, lower level managers are promoted to the general manager position depending on their caliber and experience. Nonetheless in some cases, outside recruitment also would be done. A management degree with good marks from any reputed university would be desirable. According to the areas of specialization, the candidates would be posted in the various departments including Human resources, marketing and finance among others. General Managers work schedule would be tedious and demanding and to be successful in this hot seat, one should be mentally and physically strong and should be willing to put in that extra effort that would make all the difference in the world to the company's prospects and future.
