Our daily meals contain various components. Meat of all sorts, dairy, vegetables, you name it, we eat it. Even if we ingest most of the things that either walk or grow on the ground, there are some things that we look for in every ingredient.
People that serve vegetables in their meals want to serve them as fresh as they can be. The best vegetables are the ones that are grown on the spot, without any overseas or on the road transportation. This however is somewhat difficult because not everything can be grown on the spot. Or can it? This obstacle can now be overcome with the help of a hydroponic grow shop.
Who are the people that grow their own vegetables? Usually they are farmers or other people that have a garden or a patch of land that can help them in the growing process. Because there are lots of other people that would like to grow their vegetables, this option seemed a little out of reach because they didn’t have any soil to plant them in. With a hydroponic grow shop, soil is eliminated from the equation.
Even though it is introduced as a relatively new concept, or at least this is a subject that most of us haven’t heard of and we think is new, hydroponics is something that has been around for a very long time. Some ancient works are still in existence, some of them containing studies on how to grow plants, which can be dated back to the period before Christ was born.
Fast forward to more recent times, the earliest published work that saw the light of day on how to grow plants without using soil is almost four hundred years old. This was called Sylva Sylvarum, and it was printed one year after the death of its author, Sir Francis Bacon.
From that point on the growth of plants without soil became something that many studied and tried to achieve. Lots of results came later on, in the centuries that followed, when scientists found ways to grow plants in water. The needed traits to achieve this were explained, and the basic process started to come together. This was the new way to grow plants.
While many people think soil cannot be replaced and this is the best way to grow plants, they would shocked to find that soil acts as a reservoir for the nutrients that reach the plant and not as a key factor, therefore it is expendable. There are two very important advantages of having a hydroponic grow shop: first it presents higher crop yields and second it can be set up in places where traditional growing would not be possible.
Some studies show that because a hydroponic grow shop can be set up anywhere, the benefits to the environment are considerable. We all know that global warming is a major problem, especially in the big cities, but having lots of plants to eliminate carbon dioxide from the atmosphere and provide oxygen is one of the key elements that can lead to a much healthier planet.
If restaurants would set up their own hydroponic grow shop nearby, think about how much it would improve the quality of your meals. Fresh vegetables that come strait from the source into your salad cannot be matched. If you want to set up your own hydroponic grow shop and lack the experience or the necessary tools, be sure to visit the website hydroponics.eu.
Improving the quality of life is something that most of us think about. With a hydroponic grow shop we can have access to fresh vegetables anywhere, the environment would suffer less and our lives would become much better.
