Next, the special veneer prepared for the patient will be placed over the tooth. A special glue is applied on the surface of the tooth and the veneer is placed on it. To make the veneer hard and durable a laser beam is applied to bond it with the tooth. Veneering will take only two to three visits to the cosmetic dentist.
You need to take care of your veneer after the procedure. You should maintain your oral hygiene. You need to floss and brush your teeth well. Teeth whitening with veneers last longer than bonding. It is stronger too, as porcelain is harder than bonding paste. You should avoid too much of tea, coffee or foods that stain the teeth. Also, you should not grind your teeth or bite into hard things. This will damage the veneer covering. If the veneer is damaged or broken it cannot be repaired. You will need to get a new veneering done.
In teeth whitening procedures veering is generally done to the teeth which show when we smile. It can be done to both sets of teeth, upper and lower. It is easy for the dentist to match the color of the teeth to the porcelain veneer. Since they are made of porcelain veneers match the glassy exterior of a normal teeth. As a normal teeth reflects light veneered teeth too does the same.
