Evans Essential Guide To Finding The Perfect Pair Of Jeans

Author : Brad Swarner

Bootcut – Will flatter any shape or size. They are especially flattering for people with wider hips as they balance out the silhouette and are so versatile they can be worn with virtually any outfit! They look great with trainers and a casual tee or if you want to opt for a more glamorous look then choose a pair of indigo or black bootcut jeans and a long line sequin top. Complete the look with a pair of heels and a fab clutch bag.

Utility Jean – A comfortable, slouchy fit with utility pocket detailing. For a relaxed look, team with trainers or pumps and a printed tee.

High Waist Jean – A high fashion look that you don’t have to be super skinny to wear. The high waisted jeans are cut especially for a fuller figure and can look great with a pair of heels and a blouse tucked in – accessorise with a chunky waist belt. They are also a good investment and will take you through to next season with ease, DKNY, Biba and D&G have all featured the high waisted jean in their S/S08 catwalk shows and it’s set to be a big look.

Straight Leg – This can look really flattering on a curvy silhouette as they skim rather than cling to the leg. Wear an empire line top to cover any lumps and bumps. You can create a striking evening look with a pair of heels or tuck into boots for a daytime look. Complete with this season’s swing jacket which flatters a curvy figure and looks great with straight leg jeans.

High Rise Fitted Flare – Fitted at the thigh and knee then flares out to the hem. This style is particularly flattering for a pear shape silhouette as it balances heavier thighs and hips.

Wide Leg – Fits neat on the waist then flares from the thigh – great for balancing curvy hips. The key to this shape jean is balance – wear a fitted top or blouse to accentuate an hourglass silhouette. Don’t be tempted to wear a baggy top as this will make you look bigger. They look fabulous when dressed up with wedges or heels.

Top Tips:
• Look for a pair of jeans that go well with the shoes you wear most often that way you will get the most out of them.
• Always pick jeans to suit your shape, never pick a style that is unflattering just because it’s trendy. You’ll feel uncomfortable every time you wear them and they will end up sitting in the back of the wardrobe.
• To extend the life of your favourite jeans wash in cool water to keep them from fading.
