There are many important factors that go into the proper usage of any custom router bits, starting with choosing the right bit for the job. Adjusting the router bits starts by placing the router on a flat surface. Then simply loosen the locking nut and turn the collar until the bit just barely touches the work surface that you are doing your project on.
To make the final adjustments, you will want to slide your custom router bits to the edge of the work surface until they are just past it. Then turn the collar until the bits are at the desired depth and lock the collar in place. Now all you need to do is tighten the locking nut to be sure it will remain securely in place so it will never fly off.
